Tairaba, popular among boat fishing, is one of the fishing genres where technological advancements are particularly noticeable.

This time, we introduce the features and feel of the new Tairaba rod "Switch Stick" released by Jackall. This rod is designed with a new concept that surpasses Jackall's popular Tairaba rod "Bing Bing Stick," offering high operability and sensitivity with its short length. Let’s check out how this new rod can be useful for anglers.

Recently, short rods are becoming more common in various fishing genres. Indeed, they are easy to handle. However, be careful as they can be difficult to use in wavy conditions or from a high fishing position.

What is the Switch Stick?

The greatest appeal of the Switch Stick lies in its shortness. At a total length of 5ft 5in (about 1.65m), this rod is a new Tairaba-specific rod introduced by Jackall to the market. Compared to traditional rods, it is much easier to handle, especially in tight spaces. Additionally, the short rod provides better bite and allows you not to miss delicate strikes, enabling you to enjoy a direct fight.

Characteristics and use scenarios of different models

The "Switch Stick" has three models designed to accommodate different fishing methods.

The SS-C551, SS-C552, and SS-S553 models are optimized for specific fishing styles, allowing you to choose the best rod for your situation.

The SS-C551 model is specifically for dotera fishing and features a highly flexible full-solid design. This model responds flexibly to the pull of snapper, ensuring a stable fight. The SS-C552 is suited for vertical fishing, using high-modulus carbon for lightweight yet strong and sensitive performance. Lastly, the SS-S553 is a spinning model specialized for casting Tairaba, with its short length particularly effective in shallow casting.

SS-C551

The SS-C551 is a super ultra-light class full-solid Tairaba rod designed entirely from carbon material, boasting high flexibility. This flexibility allows it to firmly absorb the delicate pull of snapper, facilitating a stable fight. Specialized for dotera fishing, using this rod makes one-on-one battles with fish significantly more enjoyable. It is lightweight at just 98 grams, making it less tiring even during long fishing sessions.

SS-C552

The SS-C552 is an ultra-light class tubular Tairaba rod. It uses high-modulus carbon, which, while lightweight, offers both high strength and excellent sensitivity. This rod is optimized for vertical fishing, capable of directly conveying the subtle movements of Tairaba to your hands, reducing missed strikes. Its straight guide configuration further enhances casting performance, allowing for more precise control.

SS-S553

The SS-S553 is a light class spinning model specialized for casting Tairaba. Its 5ft 5in short length is particularly suitable for shallow casting, enabling accurate lure delivery to targets. Despite being a tubular design, it offers a light handling feel and direct sensation against fish. The advantages of a short rod maximize casting accuracy.
